New Year Resolutions!

Gosh time flies. It's already the last day of the year. I haven't had any luck with cute hunks this year. How can that be? With my killer look. I'm so disappointed. *sigh*

Oh well forget about what had passed, I shall make new resolutions for the blasting year ahead. Let's see first I hope to become prettier than what I already am. And have at least one cute guy in the web team. Next I hope to have luck with cute hunks. To wake up on time for school/work. I hope to pick up a new instrument (What do you think suits me?). That's all I have for now. I’ll add to them as the day passes by.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

Love
DUMDUM

I am perfect. I need not resolve to do anything new.Okay wait, there is one. To break less girls' hearts. To see them crying all the time is not doing anything for my reputation.

Who You'll Meet at BOL Part 2 - SLEEQ

Interesting Opening Story:
After SLEEQ's performance at TPRAWKS!!, they proceeded outside to take photos with some fans and sign autographs and the like (I had my face covered so people didn't approach me).

It was too my utmost regret that I didn't have a camera with me as I observed what was happening, because among the many fans was one particular girl who looked like she was hyperventilating after speaking to Syarif of SLEEQ.

It was like she met Michael Jackson =D

Who'll You Meet at BOL part 2 - SLEEQ!!
Boys and girls, today we talk about... SLEEQ~!!

As those of you who have been following this blog will know, Fanning and I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing SLEEQ. I worked with them briefly during TPRAWKS!!, but this time I get to sit down with them and ask them all sorts of questions, like where they were from (more on that later), what other names they tried calling themselves before they settled on SLEEQ (like "Tuff Spinz" ho ho ho) and what was the weirdest thing their fans have done for them (err sorry that one cannot say =P).

So... who are SLEEQ?
Cousins Syarif (on the left) and Alif (on the right), at the age of 16, decided to come together and form SLEEQ. Syarif, who studied at Woodlands Ring (and lives in Woodlands) is in the Diploma of Communications and Media Management (Business school), while Alif who studied in Tanjong Katong Secondary School, is in the Diploma in Product Industrial Design (Design school).

Their biggest accolade to date is, along with Hady Mirza and Taufik Batisah, winning the Most Popular Local Artiste Award at the Anugerah Planet Muzik Awards! Considering that the other 2 winners are Singapore Idols, that makes SLEEQ the only winner that didn't appear in a reality TV contest (and yet just as hot)!

Fun facts!
- They started their foray into music when they were 12, with nothing more than a microphone and a laptop.
- When they had an interview at 98.7FM, one of Alif's classmates happened to be tuning in in the computer lab. Some quipped, "Blast the thing!", the volume cranked up and all the lab got to hear it.
- They're currently in the running for Best Local Song on 98.7FM Top 100 Countdown.
- They once had a fan come down all the way from England just so she could give them gifts and take photos with them!!

They'll be at BOL?
YES. They'll be at BOL!

Gatecrash E-Guides Camp

Just as we thought that today will be another quiet afternoon in school, Fanning, Frayon & I heard cheering when we are on our way to the canteen. We were too hungry to pay much attention to it. But Fanning & I can't contain our curiosity so decided that we will trace down where the cheering came from.

Look at who we had found

Ta-dah!!! The E-Guides* .

We found out that the E-Guides are having their 3D/2N training camp to get ready for the upcoming Open House in January 2008. Seeing so many guys there, I just went out of control. In order to calm me down, Fanning reluctantly agreed that we will follow the E-Guides around to see what they are doing.

They were playing this flag game at the concourse area of Design School, which require them to be able to pay attention to the instruction given.

Fanning & I distracted them with the camera.

We also found out that TP students are really creative. Look this is our own version of Twister Game.

Of course at this can't be happening without the word TEAMWORK!!!

That was all we managed to capture for the day, as Fanning got so irritated by the loud cheering that she nearly used violence on the E-Guides. In order to prevent a bloody scene from taking place i just had to say GOODBYE to the E-Guides (especially the guys) *pout*.

*E-Guides = Engineering Guides

A Psychedelic Experience

This year, TP's number of Academic Schools grow from 5 (Applied Science, Business, Design, Engineering and Informatics & IT) to 6! Check out TP's "new kid on the block" when you visit the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) during TP Open House 08!

What does HSS offer?
Do you desire "Psychic" abilities to know yourself and others better? Would you like to read situations and analyze events before it happens? If your answer is "Yes", the Diploma in Psychology Studies might be just what you are looking for.
This is HSS' first Diploma (with 2 students already in it via the DPA) and awaits its pioneer batch of students, that is YOU to come next year!

HSS is also the school in charge of CDS, or Cross Disciplinary Subjects, like foreign languages, music and creative writing.

What will HSS be doing at the Open House?
It doesn't hurt to speak a few more foreign languages to impress your friends, especially the one you are (ahem...). Anyway, HSS lecturers will teach you to speak phrases in Japanese, Italian and French. As a free gift, you might also get to write your name in Japanese calligraphy and hang it in your room.

Also, HSS will holding an exhibition on the experiences of Global Citizens memories, a rare insight into the lives of those who consider travelling overseas to study or work as natural as us considering going to Orchard Road to shop.

So stay Psyched for the Psycholicious experience at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Open House!

HOHOHO!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
The web team here had a mini Christmas Party here yesterday.
Let the pictures do the talking. (Pictures! talk! Hyuk Hyuk. Gosh i'm Fun-Ney!)

This picture above is just half of the big picture. There were so much food we can probably fill up an entire pool and swim in it.
Here is Frayon slicing bread. Before you naive girls out there think he is helpful, please note that that knife he is holding was waved violently by yours truly at him before he agreed to help. (and yes, he smiles this way, now... who still wants his number?) I've got evidence of Dumdum snacking on turkey when she thinks nobody is watching. tsk tsk.

At the end of the party, each of us left with expanded capacities while brimming with prosperity. Hyuk Hyuk.

So once again from the webteam, we want to wish you a MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Who You'll Meet at BOL - Part 1

Merry Christmas Everyone! It's Christmas Eve! Which means it's the day before Christmas! Which means tomorrow is Christmas! Even our banner reflects the Christmas mood!

TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS!

Now that we've gotten the date right, I'd like to inform everyone that, due to the limited amount of space I have in my house, not all of the gifts you offer to me will be accepted. Please email me photos of your gifts with an attached document detailing out what the gift is and why I should accept it and I'll get back to you.

The tp4me team had a Christmas gathering earlier, and Fanning will (try-to-not-so-violently) put up photos for everyone to check out. Today, as a bit of an early Christmas gift we're presenting the first series of "Who You'll Meet at BOL" posts, to give you an insight on what being at the BOL Seminar will be like for you!

Presenting... Rosemary and Asher!

Who They Are:
Asher and Rosemary are Year 2 students from the Communications and Media Management.

And no, that's not Asher's natural facial expression. >_<

Where They Were From:

Asher was from St. Patrick, while Rosemary was from CHIJ Toa Payoh (fun fact: she's daughter of an ex-national shooter!).

So What Will They Be Doing At The BOL Seminar?
It's different when you hear one person's account of someone else's experience versus that person talking about it himself, we know. This is why we thought it to be best if you hear from our own TP students on how we can help bring students beyond their O Levels.

So What Is It Like Being a TP Student?
You don't just get a "basic" education in TP. Rosemary, for example, is part of an interest group called iLive, which organises events to promote healthy living, while Asher was a moderator for the Youth Matters Forum, where students hold discussion with MPs on current events!

So come over to the BOL Seminar to meet them! We'll have writeups on other people you'll get to meet at the BOL Seminar soon!

Dumdum's Deadly High Pitched Shrieks

I just discovered a force which even my punches cannot defeat. Read on..
.
It all started when Dumdum, Werty (with book) and myself were having lunch together on Wednesday. We then 'bumped' into this at the sports hall-

Here you have TP students going through their 3days 2 nights Group Leader (GL) training camp. They are training up for next year's freshmen orientation camp. Now you know why TP's Student Leaders are always so dynamic.

Before i could get any closer shots, that was when i heard it. That deadly high pitched shriek which turned my hard rock punches into candy marshmellows. Even Werty's book got shredded into pieces that she went bersark on Dumdum, of which i shall not go into any further details.
.
Apparently my swinging stinky size 9 1/2 feet aint strong enough to battle Dumdum's high pitched shrieks when she see cute guys. *shudders* To all Dudes, RUN RUN RUN when you see Dumdum.

Yo. Punks. You like my singing?! *Cracks knuckles*

Here is something you dudes don't know about me. I have a undiscovered talent for singing. Ahem. Yes. Who would have thought - big, rough, great Fanning sings as pretty as a bird who sings pretty.

Now, I am sure you guys out there must have some hidden talents (like my singing. LALALALALALA!), or just any thoughts you want to express. You punks must check out Thotpost at http://www.thotpost.com/.

Post up any videos or photos and stand a chance to win great prizes! When Fanning says great prizes, Fanning means GREAT prizes. Let's see, past winners won My Chemical Romance concert tickets, MP3s and movie tickets. Uh huh.

LALALALALALALALALALA!
LALALALALALALALLALALA!

I should have won.

Growl.

Open House Goodie Bags!

Hello Dear Punks! Fanning is in a good mood today. Yes, so i did barge into the interview to see SLEEQ. So sue me.

ahem

Anyways check this out, our students are out and about preparing for Open House!

Today, we have our iGuides gathering to prepare your goodie bags. You punks not only get to explore the courses TP offers, but get FREE goodie bags?!

They were afraid to smile for me and my camera at first. I'm guessing it's the size of my feet that scared them. However, after seeing how well I can balance, they began to warm up. Yes, my big feet allow me to balance better. Having big feet after all is better than having a big head.

Hyuk Hyuk Hyuk!Get it Get it? Big Head! Frayon! Big Head! Hyuk Hyuk Hyuk!

ahem

By the way, these friendly iGuides will be your ushers on the day of Open House! I will be friendly too! (as long as you are not wearing yellow. growl..)

So punks, hop on down to TP Open House from the 10th to 12th Jan.

Farewell.

SLEEQ at BOL!

Hello punks.

We had Hady Mirza last year at BOL, be prepared for SLEEQ who will be performing this year! *shrieks fanatically!*

ahem

Yes, I am a fan of SLEEQ, you have any problems with that. *cracks knuckles and glares around*

This talented cousin duo- Alyph and Syarif won the Most Popular Local Artistes Award at the recent Anugerah Planet Muzik Awards organised by MediaCorp Radio. With their singles being aired on radio, this duo is going places! *sighs*

Do you also know that both of them are from TP? Anyways Frayon will be interviewing SLEEQ pretty soon. *Growls menacingly at him* (sidenote to Frayon: you better be nice to them, massage their pretty feet, scrub their manly backs, comb their silky hair, feed their dainty mouth with big juicy grapes, anything less then that, YOU. WATCH. OUT.) ahem

Frayon: Err. You know, all these violent threats of yours really isn't helping my complexion.

Frayon will be sure to ask them of their TP campus life, how they juggle both studies and career (and the type of girls they go for *giggles*.)

Frayon: And this is just a hint, but I seriously think the kind of girls they go for won't be girls like YOU.

*cough cough* Yeah.

Visit their myspace at http://www.myspace.com/sleeq for more of SLEEQ!

Tough and Rough me is signing off. Roar.

Solid as Bone,
Fanning who loves SLEEQ! AHHHHHH!

nicely I might give it to you. *charming grin*

ANYWAY, at the seminar we'll be talking about how we can help you beyond your O levels (hence the name)! The thing about the O levels is that it feels like the end of a journey, when actually it's really only the beginning. Yes. I'm philosophical as well as handsome.

TP Open House and the Fanning Roar!

Ahem. Fanning is my name, female is my gender. I have a size feet of 9 ½ and will not hesitate to swing them around if I have to. There is nothing you need to know about me other then the point that I detest bananas. In fact never trust anything which is yellow in color. *stares hard at Frayon's teeth*

Now little punks, have you always wondered what life in TP is like. Are you interested in the courses we offer yet a little confused at the same time? Now now, I am here to announce to you that... TP Open House is here!

Open House Dates: 10-12 Jan 2008

Time: 10-11Jan (12pm-5.30pm), 12Jan (10am-5pm)

Venue: *stares deadly at you*

Before I move on to reveal what TP Open House has in store for you, here is a piece of advice. You little punks, do not, and I repeat, DO NOT miss the Open House. Open house, do not miss. Miss not the open house. Open house miss? NO NO NO!

Ahem.

Our 6 academic schools (Business, Applied Science, Engineering, Design, Informatics & IT, Humanities & Social Sciences) will be showcasing their different courses. Experience the numerous activities planned by these schools and other exciting programs which will give you a taste of life as a TP student. This includes the popular Water Adventures at Bedok Reservoir on 10 and 11 January 2008 (2pm-5pm), which covers activities such as boating, canoeing, speedboat riding and wakeboarding. Bring your float along if you cannot float due to large feet, like me. Ahem. NO yellow floats please. *glares*

I hate butterflies. *growl*

In addition to that, our new courses such as the Diploma in Psychology Studies (under our new Humanities & Social Sciences school) will be showcased at the Temasek Pavilion. Do you happen to have friends who are delusional, narcissistic, and absurd? *points at Frayon* I am quite sure this diploma would be of great use to them, if not, bring them to me and I will settle them for you. *smirk* You will also get to interact with our TP staff and students while enjoying free ice-cream and snacks. Our Cross Disciplinary Subjects will be displayed at the Pavilion as well.

We would dive into greater details in future entries, therefore stick around.

*passes out glue*

Hyuk Hyuk. Man I'm funny. Hyuk Hyuk.

Ahem.

Farewell.

Solid as Bone,
Fanning.

Recap on TPRAWKS!! by The Hummingbird

Hooo! This is The Hummingbird from the TPRAWKS!! blog!

It's been a month since TPRAWKS!!, but many people are still talking about it. For those of you who attended, HEY!! TP OEI! For those of you who didn't... YOU MISSED OUT ON A LOT MAN!

At TPRAWKS!!, 3 days seem like only a few hours. Standing from an organizer and participant point of view, the event has been a fruitful and enjoyable one.

We broke the ice by having a competition among the different packs. Shortly after, the Rawkers were dispatched to the various schools for the TP Xperience. It gave them a glimpse of the courses in TP, and a clearer picture of life as a TP student. The first day ended on a high with the TP Mass Dance. Grooving to the tunes of the “New Age Girl", the Rawkers immersed themselves into the “TP Tradition” of being young, hip and vibrant.

Day 2 of TPRAWKS is the physically most intense of all. No more classrooms and lecture theaters. Three events packed back to back from the adventure learning camp, to the Hip Hop Dance and Dragon Boating. The Rawkers have no choice but to get their hands dirty and keep their brawns going.
On the last day, the Rawkers had more freedom to roam around during lunch time. We have lunch performances by several live bands, while having our Campus Care Network (CCN) Day concurrently. The Rawkers not only have time to explore the school, but also got a chance to interact with TP students at large.
When the much anticipated Jam & Hop kicked off, TP's very own pride and joy – Sleeq took center stage. With their own style of rock, Ivy's Vendetta went up next. The Power Jam 2007 winner wasted no time in laying down the grooves and set the entire house heated up. However, it was the Great Spy Experiment (G.S.E) that sent the crowd into a wild night of dancing and twirling. G.S.E sang a couple of their own popular tunes, much to the liking of the crowd.

When the clock strike 10, it marked the end of three wonderful days at TPRAWKS!!. Although it was late, many of the Rawkers stayed back to bid their possible last farewells. The pack leaders who have been working ceaselessly gathered for a short celebration. As for me and the organizing committee, we are just glad that the event was a success and that people enjoyed themselves. Until TPRAWKS!! 2008, I have only one message for all you people - “KEEP ON RAWKIN!!”

We have a TPRAWKS!! Friendster and Photobucket Album where you all can check out photos and meet Rawkers. Check it out!

TP4ME Oeeeei!!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, aunties and uncles, dogs, cats, flowers and aliens from across the galaxy - WELCOME TO OUR TP4ME BLOG!

My name is Frayon. Many of you will know me as FuriousCrayon from the TPRAWKS!! blog (hello Rawkers!), and if that's the case you will also know that I'm the charming, dashing blogger that makes girls scream and faint as I walk past them. I look like Brad Pitt, you see, but don't tell too many people. My local fan club too big already. Wait until I turn international then tell people again okay? Now I show you a picture of me to let you drool first.

So what's TP4ME? We're actually the sister blog to our original TP4U website found here, and we're here to ensure that you, that's right YOU (and you and you and *wink*,
hey there you... want my number?) get a glimpse of what TP life is like, including:
  • Showcasing events that happen on TP, like TPRAWKS!!, Open House (coming soon!), Beyond O Level Seminar (coming soon too!), concerts... AND MORE!
  • Showing you sights, sounds and silliness that can happen around the Temasek Poly campus!
  • TP Students talking about everything under the sun! Student life, school life, maybe even... luuuurve life.
  • Course information, new diploma, info... aiyah a LOT of good info lah.
And a lot of other nonsense. Cool nonsense. Hahaha...

So please, feel free to tell your friends, your friends' friends, your friends' friends' friends and even your friends' parents' cousin's 4th aunty about us. Hopefully, you'll also be able to say "TP 4 ME"!

Flexingly yours,
Frayon
