Top Graduates in TP!
Hello!!!
Today, we're going to be featuring Ng Xi Yun from the Diploma in Biomedical Informatics&Engineering and Jonah Dela Cruz from the Diploma in Information Technology. Being the fair person that I am, let's start with the lady first.

Xi Yun has a really special story to tell. She took her entire second year to pursue an 11-month long exchange program in 2006. The program was fully sponsored by the Japanese government and only two participants were selected from each ASEAN country. Imagine how honoured she must have felt to be representing our very own sunny island.
She went to Japan with very basic knowledge of the language and had to communicate with her host family through sign language and writing. She even had to study the different subjects in High School in Japanese! But after 11 months there, she is now conversant in the language and has even organised exchanged programs for the TP students and students from Japan.
Xi Yun also has a love for swimming. When quizzed about why she had taken up swimming in poly, she mentioned that the only motivation behind it was because of her love for it. She believes in training hard to excel in her sport, and having representing the school in innumerable competitions.
Not only does she excel in her CCAs in school, she has done really well academically gaining a GPA of 3.92. On top of that, she is driven by her passion for acquiring new knowledge, attending talks and workshops to enhance her understand on Bioinformatics.
Certainly, a real inspiration to all of us. No wonder, she has been awarded the All-Rounder Award, rewarding her for all her academic and non-academic achievements.

Next up, our Lee Kuan Yew award winner, Jonah Victor Dakis Dela Cruz. If one cannot guess his nationality from his name, Jonah hails from the Philippines and had moved here when he was 15. At that tender young age where most of his peers were more interested in playing computer games, he had a passion for designing and building websites. Armed with this passion, he started to find out more about coding and had worked together with a staff from his secondary school to revamp the school's website.
In 2007, Jonah was selected by the school for the Microsoft Office Specialist Challenge (Excel Category) and emerged as the National Champion. He then went on to represent Singapore in the Worldwide Microsoft Competition in the USA, securing an impressive score and earning the Runner Up position beating representatives from over 40 countries.
With his passion and skills for IT, he went with the school to Cambodia to help set up computers, to help improve the quality of life there by introducing technology.
Just reading and writing all about them makes me feel so motivated! With more of such features coming up, be ready to get as inspired as me! So stay tuned or be square!
It's so exciting that just next week, I will be attending my very own graduation ceremony! Imagine, 3 years just flew by like this! *gasps* Anyway, with graduation coming up next week, we will be featuring some very outstanding students from TP who have definitly gained a holistic education here!
